Meet the Authors!
Date: January 30th, 2013
Location: Derry Public Library, 64 E. Broadway, Derry, NH 03038–Adult Level by the fireplace
Mark your calendars! This January we will be holding our second annual Midwinter Authors Night. Who’s on the roster this year? Jo Knowles, Erin Dionne, and Gina Rosati!
Jo Knowles, from our neighboring state of Vermont, will be reading from her highly acclaimed new novel See You at Harry’s. Knowles is known for her unflinching portrayal of tough subjects. See You at Harry’s has been spotlighted as New York Times Notable Book of 2012, Amazon’s Best Middle Grade Books of 2012, An International Reading Association Favorite 2012 Book. Her other, highly acclaimed novels include Lessons From A Dead Girl, Jumping Off Swings and Pearl. Find out more about Jo at www.joknowles.com
Erin Dionne hails from Massachussetts and is known for her quirky lighthearted middle grade fiction; Notes From an Accidental Band Geek, Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet, Models Don’t Eat Chocolate Cookies. She is currently working on her 4th book, Moxie and the Art of Rulebreaking (July 2013). She lives near Boston with her husband, son and daughter. You can read more about Erin Dionne (and her new book) at www.erindionne.com
Gina Rosati, from the granite state, joins us with her debut novel: a YA paranormal romance called Auracle. Her first books tells the journey of a young girl and one out of body experience gone terribly wrong. When Gina is not writing she is hanging out with her two chubby guinea pigs, or her two teenagers. You can find out more about Gina at www.ginarosati.com
Can you say variety?? Each of our authors will read a short excerpt from their book. Once we have laughed, cried and gone into other worlds, we will have a Q&A. Here’s your chance to ask any question that might be on your mind. For instance, what is the publishing process like? What steps do you need to take in order to find an agent? Is it worth having one? How long did it take to finish your first book? And how many drafts? AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN IT IS DONE???
After we have exhausted our authors with questions and comments, we will break up for snacks as well as a book sale and signing. Books will be on sale through The Book Barn dba Well Read Books. To Pre-Order a copy of any of the titles, feel free to call them at 603-819-5116 and let them know it is for Midwinter Authors Night in Derry, NH.
If you would like a reminder for this event, you can register for Midwinter Authors Night in our Calendar section, or email Erin at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that registration is NOT required!
