Storytimes

Infant Storytime

Wednesdays: May 1, 8 & 15 at 10:00 a.m.

A 20-30 minute lapsit storytime for infants birth to 12 months and their caregivers. Learn fingerplays, songs and simple baby sign language to share with your babies as they sit in your lap. No registration required. With Miss Courtney.

The New Mother Goose On The Loose

Thursdays: May 2, 9 & 16 at 10:00 a.m.

Toddler storytime for children 12 to 36 months and their caregivers, using music, finger plays, props and movement. No registration required. With Miss Eileen.

Pre-school Storytime

Mondays: May 6 & 13 at  10:00 a.m.

Story program for children ages 3-5 years old and their caregiver.  Lively time of sharing books, songs, puppets, nursery rhymes, early literacy and pre-school activities. No registration required. With Mr. Evan.

Step into Music 

Tuesdays: May 7 & 14 at 10:00 a.m.

A music and dance program for young children ages 3-5 years old and their caregiver. Celebrate early childhood with songs, stories, games, and movement.  No registration required. With Miss Eileen.

Evening Storytime!

Bedtime Stories
Tuesday Nights: May 7 & 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Story program for working parents and their children ages 2-5. Join us for stories, rhymes and lively participation fun. Pajamas, blankets and stuffed animals welcome. No Registration required.

Weekend Programs

Going to the Zoo!

Saturday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m.

We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo! How about you, you, you? Listen to stories, music and fingerplays about your favorite animals in this special storytime for young children. Animal craft included. For children ages 2 and up with caregivers. No registration. With Miss Kathy.

The Derry Fairy & Elf Festival

Saturday, May 11 from 1:00-4:00

Bring the whole family down for this special event. Please see our full program flyer for details. Light snacks will be provided.

String-A-Story!

Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m.

Have you ever made a cat’s cradle? Listen to a story told with a string figure and try to wrap your fingers around some fun designs. We can teach you! Craft included. For children ages 7 and up with their caregivers. No registration. With Miss Kathryn.

After School Activities

Chess Club!

Thursday, May 2 at 3:30 p.m.

Learn how to play this incredible game of skill and      strategy at our monthly chess club. Special guest Dan Kilgour will lead the group. Please bring an extra board, pieces and a friend. For children grades 3-5.  No registration required.

Rainbow Magic Fairies – Party

Thursday, May 9 at 3:30 p.m.

Jack Frost and his goblins have stolen all the magic petals from our fairy garden! If you can help us find them all, a gate to fairy land will be opened, where we’ll eat special Fairy Bread and create beautiful flower crowns to wear. Grades K-3. With Miss Courtney . SHREK!

Thursday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m.

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Far Far Away lived an ogre named SHREK! Join us for an afternoon of awesome Shrek activities: Hear the original story by William Steig and stick around for the movie starring everyone’s favorite ogre! For children grades K-5th. No registration required. With Mr. Evan.

Wii Game Day for Kids

Wednesday, May 15 at 3:30 p.m.

Drop in for an afternoon of Wii games in the Reading Adventure Room. Read some comics and play some of your favorite games. For children grades K -5th. No registration required.
