Chef Liz Barbour of The Creative Feast returns to Derry to take you on a slide presentation tour through her cottage-sized gardens. Learn how to use every inch of a small garden to maximize its beauty and its bounty using herbs as part of an edible landscape. Take in the varieties of ornamental and edible plants as Liz offers tips about how to plan ahead so that you can truly enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Following the slide presentation will be a cooking demonstration and sampling of two delicious recipes featuring fresh herbs. Liz will introduce you to healthy recipes using herb combinations that you can purchase and grow in your own garden. Add in Liz’s easy cooking technique tips and you are on your way to creating great meals you can prepare at home. Recipes will be available to take home.
Knives and knife sharpeners will also be available for purchase. Fans of her previous visit last fall were excited to have the chance to buy chef-recommended “tools of the trade” after seeing them in action. (They can be viewed at her website, www.thecreativefeast.com)
Liz Barbour has been cooking professionally in the Boston area since 1992 and started Liz Barbour’s Creative Feast in 2004. Liz built her cooking career in a variety of Boston’s catering and restaurant settings. After starting her family, Liz reentered the food world as an instructor, sharing her professional experiences and knowledge with her students and clients through cooking demonstration classes, in-home cooking parties, and boutique-style private catering.
Liz’s cooking demonstrations and recipes have been featured on New Hampshire Chronicle, Liz appears regularly on WMUR Channel 9′s “Cooks Corner”, and her recipes are featured in various publications including New Hampshire Magazine, the Nashua Telegraph, and The Hippo.
She also offers catering and cooking courses from her Creative Feast business.
