Monday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Summer Reading is for Adults as well as for Teens and Children, at Derry Public Library. The theme this year is “Escape the Ordinary”, and the programs chosen are hoped to help participants do just that.

Felipe Jorge is an independent filmmaker. He decided to make an observational documentary film about a store in Haverhill, Massachusetts, called the Comic Book Palace. The shop has been operating for over 20 years under Glenn O’Leary, the owner. The film is 43 minutes long, and includes many interviews about comic books and comic book movies. This program will include a showing of the film along with Jorge’s comments about filming and why he chose to film the story of a comic book store. Time permitting, the talk might include discussion about superheroes and the interest in comic book films in today’s popular culture.

Don’t miss this glimpse into the world of comic books and filmmaking. Come to Derry Public Library on Monday, July 13, at 6:30 pm.

For more information call the Library at 432-6140
