Join us for a historic potluck dinner. For this session, we’ll explore food from the acclaimed cookbook Jubilee: Recipes from Two Centuries of African American Cooking by Toni Tipton-Martin. In this cookbook, Martin puts a modern spin on iconic dishes. Entries include avocado dip and plantain chips, gumbo, fried chicken, barbecued shrimp, lemon tea cake and many more mouthwatering delicacies. Peruse the book and bring a recipe to share with the group. We’ll discuss the cookbook while we have dinner.
