POSITION: Recording Secretary
STARTING PAY RANGE: $75/meeting
SCHEDULE: One meeting a month with some variation

DUTIES:
Under direction of the Library Director and Trustee Chairs, attends the Derry Public Library Board of Trustees meetings and other meetings as required. Responsibilities include:
Attending meetings as assigned; recording meetings and taking notes
Composing minutes of meetings in a timely fashion meeting all requirements of NH RSA 91-A Assuring accuracy of all draft minutes, correcting grammar, content and format of material as necessary within legal time frame

Assigned work is on an as-needed basis with Board of Trustee meetings held in the early to mid-evening generally on the third Monday of the month. The day and number of meetings assigned per month may vary due to the meeting calendar.

REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Progressively responsible secretarial experience including skilled typing and stenographic duties
    • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
    • Knowledge of business English, spelling and vocabulary
    • Skill with use of computers and modern office equipment
