Part-time Accounting / Human Resources Coordinator
The Derry Public Library is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to join our energetic and cohesive team. This key position encompasses bookkeeping responsibilities, as well as HR support tasks. These include, but are not limited to, maintaining an accurate account of Library financial records, processing weekly payroll, and maintaining confidential personnel files. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a busy team environment on a variety of projects, to deliver accurate results, and to meet tight deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel records, and good judgment are crucial to success.
Position is 12-15 hours per week on site. Bookkeeping experience and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, methods and procedures is essential. Must be proficient with MS Office and financial management software. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years of related experience is preferred.
The Derry Public Library serves the Town of Derry, the fourth largest community in New Hampshire, with a population base of about 34,000. The Library has a staff of 25 FT/PT employees and a $1.465M budget. Starting salary for this position is $18.05-$19.72 per hour based on experience, plus paid holidays and vacation.
