Are you drowning in “stuff”?
With so many of us spending LOTS of time at home, this is a great time to starting sorting through it all! The number one thing that impedes people from leaving their home or getting healthcare into their homes is “stuff.”
Calling all Reference Librarians (Again!)
Do you struggle with how to answer legal questions from your library patrons? Want to learn some tips and tricks from “specialists” in the trade? If so, please join us on Thursday, January 12th from 1 – 4 pm at the Derry Public Library for a program designed specifically for public librarians.
IN PERSON
It’s your turn! Bring your research trials and triumphs to share with the group. We’ll gather together to discuss our current research, share tips and learn from one another. Artifacts, memorabilia and other items are always welcome
Immigrant ancestors can be difficult to track to the port of entry. Sometimes it’s so fun to go looking for the immigration documentation, researchers skip the vital first step: laying a firm foundation of records in America. We’ll look at a methodical approach that will help researchers lay a firm foundation of U.S. records before trying to run to the port and jump the pond.
THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED. THE NEW DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED ASAP.
Town histories, often penned by local experts and town historians, can be a treasure trove of information. Made up of local history and genealogies, not only can they help make linkages throughout the family tree, but they can also build context for the lives of your ancestors and be a springboard to further research. Join us as we explore these useful secondary resources!
Nothing quite fleshes out a life story like the local newspaper. With today’s digitization efforts newspapers are more accessible than ever. Join us to take a glimpse into free and paid archives and explore some new digital repositories. We’ll also go over how to access those pesky in-print and microfilm newspapers that are forever (digitally) out of reach.
