Notary Services at the Derry Public Library
- Notary services are free to the public. Donations to the library are always welcome, but not required.
- Please call the Library ahead of time to ensure a notary is available.
- Make an appointment with our notary and please give notice if you cannot make the appointed time.

Tues & Wed: 7PM – 7:30PM
Thurs: 12PM – 3PM
Fri: 11AM – 2PM
Sat: 11AM – 2PM
- We may not be able to accommodate drop-ins.
- The Library’s notary service is intended for simple documents that do not require legal expertise.
- A notary cannot give legal advice.
- We will not notarize the following:
- Documents in language other than English
- Children’s signatures
- Deeds
- Wills
- I-9 (Employment Eligibility paperwork)
- Electronic documents
- Lengthy, complex documents
Please be prepared for your visit with the following:
- Bring a valid, government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.
- Bring all unsigned documents to be notarized. Documents must be signed in the presence of the notary in order to be valid.
- Complete all information above the signature line prior to signature notarization.
- Bring originals of any documents to be copied and notarized.
- Notaries can only notarize certified copies made by library staff.
- If your document requires witnesses, they must accompany you, be known to you, and possess valid photo IDs.
- Notaries reserve the right at their discretion to decline any request they do not feel comfortable performing.
